Some symbols and words may sound similar but have different interpretations in different cultures such as :
1. The word “istri” means in Hindi language as wife but in Urdu language the same word means iron.
2. In common wealth countries the word “compromise” signifies a positive outcome, where both parties win where as in America it means losing by both parties.
3. The famous sign where a circle with thumb and forefinger means O.K in Europe, the same sign in Latin America has a vulgar connotation.
